The Richmond  unemployment rate for June 2016 hit a new record low of 4.6%. Out of a labor  pool of 52,900 people, only 2,400 are still looking for jobs. 50,500 are  employed. That is the lowest on record and perhaps the lowest in Richmond  history except for during WWII. 
            That puts  Richmond lower than the California State rate of 5.2% and lower than the U.S.  rate of 4.7%.
