This month at Point Richmond Jazz, we have a FABULOUS February concert that is truly one of the MOST exciting concerts we have EVER hosted. Richmond’s own Kit Eakle is taking part as well, appearing with the finest group of string quartet musicians BAR NONE in the Bay area - The great Charanga violinist Anthony Blea and Kit are on violins, Emily Onderdonk - a founding member of Quartet San Francisco, and the amazing young ‘cellist, Lewis Patzner make up the string quartet.

Tony Corman - the leader of our featured Jazz Quintet, FivePlay, has written nine gorgeous arrangements for Jazz Quintet and String Quartet. Emily Onderdonk and Kit has written three works for Jazz String Quartet, and the string players will be improvising on almost all the tunes as well.

FivePlay is Tony Corman - guitar, Linda Klein, a wonderful pianist - they both teach at the new California Jazz Conservatory. Dave Tidal is on sax and other reeds, Paul Smith, a veteran bassist who has played with ALL the greats, and Alan Hall is on drums
